Arranging for Interstate Hauling

(I originally posted this on another forum, but wanted to post here also to hopefully get responses from a different circle of enthusiasts. The info will be helpful to others as well.) I have to keep wiping the drool off my chin when I go to the photo ads and see some of the great tractors for sale. Problem is, I only have a 5,000# trailer (need to haul 10,000#) and I don't want to burn up a week of vacation and hundreds of gallons of fuel driving from East Texas to some other state to haul a tractor back home. How have others on this forum arranged for third-party interstate transportaion? Any contacts would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
