In the M parts book they list 3 types of brakes, original M band brakes, late M had disc brakes, cant determine exactly when they did this but would guess in same year the Super M was introduced, in fact serial number appears to be maybe one or two months before M was discontinued, disc brakes on all M before this was not a option, they made the conversion pkgs as a parts option, this was Lambert type identified by cast cover with no center cap hole. Between the two types of disc brakes nothing will interchange, entirely different design. By the part numbers of the conversion Lambert brake it was introduced in early 50s.
