Looks great Steven! Sure wish I'd have put the step-head pistons in my H. On the valves, it is possible that the wrong length may have been used. Gasoline, Kerosene, and Distillate heads had different valve stem lengths. If I had my Service manual here at work, I'd list the lengths. Now if you have the gasoline head and the valves are still too long, they are indeed the wrong valves. Since they're still adjustable and you've properly spaced the arm assembly evenly, it will work OK to start and see how it runs. I wouldn't recommend leaving it like that if you plan to work it hard for long periods of time. The reason is that the end of the valve stem isn't centered in the pad of the rocker arm. True, it will give you a few thousandths more valve travel (which is good), but it will also increase side load on the valve in the guide and cause more wear (which is bad).

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
