The lower bolster should angle toward the rear. HOWEVER........IHC made a wedge-shaped shim that when installed between the pivot shaft and lower bolser flanges, brings the lower bolster closer to vertical. Correctly installed the wedge reduces steering effort, especially at low speed or with a heavily weighted front end (like with a loader). The downside is it greatly reduces the "self-centering" effect of the steering. And if the steering gear is worn or has bad bearings, it makes the front end much more prone to shimmy. Punch below for a photo of the wedge that was installed on my Super H when I acquired it. You can clearly see one side marked "front" and that it is thicker at the rear than at the front.
