My printed info is not near the computer. The early 140's had 6 volt generator. Later production had 12 volt generator and eventually a 12 volt alternator was used. I think the key switch and solenoid were introduced when 12 volts first became standard. The tractor is superb for many purposes and there are a few purposes for which it is not at all well suited. A rear mounted Woods finish mower is not one of the good applications in my experience. PTO shaft alignment is very poor affecting performance of the mower and there is no live PTO.
