I am new to these parts of internet Farmall tech. I once worked on these beasts in school about 14yrs ago, now work on my semis, all diesel stuff, but a valve problem should be same gas or diesel w/ diesels eating them harder at a 14+ compression ratio. Your problem seems to change occasionally with the popping coming & leaving for a bit. A stuck valve is stuck!! A bent stem might move sometimes but not likely, because once the bent part sticks in the guide its their. A valve seat seems more likely to move around. If this were the case you need to pull the head. I know this aint fun but better than a valve busted & smashed into the piston dome. In my opinion the gasket set is cheap compared to a piston & liner, check the head out & be sure.
