Ed, Did you check to see if the idle adjustment on the carb butterfly is not set to high? Its a screw adjustment on the back (Engine) side of the carb where the governor control rod attaches. you may be able to unscrew it some to get it to idle down. Also check the yoke on the control rod and set it per the manual. Post back if this doesn't fix the problem. (Or if it does).//FB
