My guess is since you replaced the points and let's say it did pull a load well before, that the points aren't set to the right point for the timing. If the point gap is correctly set now I would check the timing. It could be the timing was set with the old points incorrectly adjusted gap wise. If they were real burnt and the new ones are too I would replace the condencer, you really should replace it anytime you replace the points as a bad one will burn the points or keep you from running at all.
