George and all: Everyone here should have had Senior high school math? Vector analysis is a very easy way to see the force movements in this WFE\NFE question. There is a side view as well as an end view. For all common tractors talked about here, there are THREE "pivot"(support) points. Only one pivot point is on the front. There are TWO pivot(support) points for the REAR.. those big heavy REAR TIRES making contact with mother earth are the other TWO.. Raising only the front pivot point by going from a NFE to a WFE is not the only consideration in stability. If you can.. stand in back and look at the two big rear tires making contact with earth. Lower one while at the same time raiseing the other will start the entire mass of the whole tractor, loader and load, ROTATING. Expecting only the front pivot point to counter all of that is a false sence of security. Ya gotta take all THREE points of support into consideration. Those two big rear tires have a lot to do with stability. If I had a scanner, I could draw the Vector lines and post. Maybe someone else handy at math could? A Farmall M has a balance point closer to the rear tires than to the front(no loader). Gene
