super a oil pressure

I have a super A with a c123 engine i have just started to use this tractor a bit so i put an oil pressure gauge in it, when cold i only have 25 #s and the needle twitches bad when i warmed it up today then idled it down the presure went to 0 .I gave it a shot of gas and presure jumped up and needle started twitching again.
What should the oil presure be for this engine ? 35#s? and what would be causeing the needle to jump so bad ? bad relief valve ? or crack in the pump pickup sucking air?
