I think you will be much happier with the German diesel . The one reason for the hard starting is that these engines were a little shy on compression . I recently saw an add from a company that started to manufacture a higher compression sleeve and piston kit to address this problem . Check with a independant repair shop they may know what company this is .If I can find the add I will post it . I hope this helps if you decide to major the tractor
