GUY FAY, a somewhat frequent contributor to this forum that works for the Wisconsin State Historical Society that has the official IHC Archives wrote an article in the last Red Power Magazine that says the only "H-TA" ever made was of a totally different design than the Super M-TA's and 300/350's and that it was dissassembled and probably scrapped in the early 1950's... thus ending the rumors and Urban legends about the existance of "Super H-TA's" I worked for International Harvester, FARMALL plant, and i've seen what they do to prototype tractors....I saw the prototype of the 5488 over a year before it went into production.... from the distance it looked like a 1586.... up close..... NO WAY! What You Husband will probably see is a Super H engine & sheet metal grafted onto the transmission, clutch housing and rear end of a 300 or 350. Several of these tractors have been made for show purposes. I'm not saying this wouldn't be a great little tractor....I'd love to have a T/A & LPTO on My late model Super H.... it's just that IHC never produced this model.
