Ill go along with Barry on this one!I had a very simialr experience with my 14 when I got it.It would run fine while iddling and start to skip and caryy on when you gave it the gas.I could reall slowly pull the throttle lever back and it would stay running but as soon as I put it in gear and move it would start acting very much in the same way you decsribed.Also you may want to check the key between the drive gear and the coupling where you bolt the mag to to set the timing .(I cant think of what you call it)recharged the magnet and she purrs like a kitten!(Oh and I put new plugs and wires and even built the carb to no avail)
