an impact is the best way to go if you can get it. I have had some people bring parts into my shop and ask us to get it loose for them. Usualy there is no charge as long as we can do it quick. one alternative that I always hate to do is heat the nut with a heating tip on a torch till it is red hot then pour water on it to cool it off. do it quick and keep the heat directed at the nut and it will be ok. I have to do that on hydraulic cylinder piston nuts every day and it works great.
