C Steering

Trying to remove 1-5/16 nut from steering gear housing so I can remove worm and replace leaking seal. Have tried heat (propane torch)and penetrant, and managed to begin rounding off the nut. I assume it has "normal" threads, meaning you turn it conterclockwise to remove. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have read on this forum that the oil can be replced with grease, so that it won't leak. However, I would still like to disassemble the unit and inspect the gears and bearings. Thanks in advance for your help.
