Worked on a dairy farm in the 60's,they had a 340 gas,350D,450D,a Super A,and a good looking 460D.All the tractors on this farm looked well used except that 460.It was a great running tractor, had plenty of power for it's size, and was a dream to run.Only problem was it was a S.O.B.to get started. The dealer from Westminster was always sending a serviceman out to see what was wrong. There never was anything wrong. They were just hard to start, that was in 63'. 40 years later,I'll give you the same advice they gave us,"Park it on a big hill." As I remember the owner of the farm did just that at dinnertime one day,we were all sitting on the porch eating as it went by.It hit a 20" walnut tree down by the springhouse,it was a mess. The owner liked that tractor so much that when he got the insurance check he went out and bought another one,and it wouldn't start either. For the next 25 years he parked that 460 in the same place on the same hill, but this one just wouldn't jump out of gear.
