Happy 4th everybody.I was wondering something this morning.Theres this guy that farms alot of acreage around me.I will often see him,on mostly IH equipment, out plowing or palnting or something most everyday.HE has, that I can recall,a 1466,a 460 a couple of Ms,both with different uses,I think one is for cultivating and the other for spraying,a Super C that he uses at home on an auger and other assorted peices.None of this stuff is sitting idle restored or other wise. Its all working equipment!I was watching him yesterday with one of his Ms and noticed it smoking a little bit.He stopped for a water break and I wandered over and asked him if he realized it was smoking. He said yes and told me that he will take all of his used oil and mix it in with his gas.He has like a 1000 gal. tank and will put maybe 20 gallons of used oil in it at a time.I thought that was kinda bad but he says he filters it out when he puts it in and has two filters on his pump when he fills up with gas.He doesnt do it on the fuel for his deisel but says hes done that for yrs with absolutey no problems! He says it saves him money and helps the eviropment some,I guess he thinks its better than pouring it on the ground.Anybody else heard of this?I have heard of mixing clean oil for a fresh engine and two cycle of course, but used oil in the gas. What do you think!?
