I think that all makes of tractors and machinary had parts left over earmarked for production, so they used them up before they changed a series of tractors. My late model Oliver 1855 diesel,(1974 year) which I restored last summer, has a White 2-105 rear end and transmission in it. It really threw me for a loop looking at others and found mine was diffrent. That's good in some ways, usually it is updated parts not prone to problems of earlier models, but you have to know what you have to get the correct parts. So, these late model 66 tractors may well have 86 parts as they ran out of 66 parts. Just another step in the evolution of a tractor.
