I sealed the tank on my C with a product from Eastwood Company. It worked well and I have had no problems. However, I don't think the C has a baffle to complicate things. It will be essential for you to take the tank off the tractor to do a proper job. The sealer kit and required accessories is not cheap. The kit for Eastwood as I recall is $39.95 plus shipping. Then you have to buy a can of acetone and a bottle of muratic acid at a paint supply or home supply store. You also will need good heavy duty rubber gloves and eye protection and a way to dispose of residues. By the time you are done, you will have $70-80 invested. As I recall, the process is to do the chain, etc thing to break loose as much rust and crud as possible. Then you wash with soap and water, then you use the muriatic acid, and the metal cleaner and the metal prep (These come with the kit). Don't recall the order you do this. Then I recall you wash again with water and then you dry it out using the acetone. After all that you are ready for the sealer. To make sure every part of the tank is cleaned and finally sealed, you have to tumble (rotate) it so all surfaces are exposed and each step. You can't do that with the tank on the tractor. The end result I got was good and I've had no further problems with the tank on my C and that was more than a year ago.

We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t
