Rick I just picked up an oil filter at my CaseI-H dealer on Saturday. The parts man asked what year of H because there was a difference in filters from 1948 on up, my H is a 1944 and I got# 376375R91. This is the same filter you got for a newer Tractor, so I would say that from what I was told on Saturday you were sold the wrong filter. I also got a copper gasket for the top of the canister#13727D..hope this helps you somehow....good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario...P.S., I just thought of something..I believe the parts man said there was a difference in the canisters, you could have a long or a short canister depending on the year...MIKE
