Many times on this forum there have been discussions on 6V to 12V conversion.I was at the Iola car show this past Saturday and met two gentlemen that build 6v alternators. Both will build for either positive or negative ground and one will also build 8V set ups if wanted.Thay each have internal regulators so the existing regulator or cutout can be eliminated.Prices vary from $60 to$75.The first is L.D.Becker Auto electric,PH (419)668-5986.He will build 8V units. The second is Bay Lakes Builders and Supply,(920)432-8100 or (800)606-6900.Each needs some time to get a unit built for you.The nice thing about going this route is you won't have to worry about burning up a starter due to overvoltage and the it isn't nessasary to add a 12v ignition coil or installing a ballast resistor on the coil, plus all the headaches with conversion of all of the lighting systems.Thought you folks would be interested.
