Thanks for the responses, a couple of things: I have a Farmall A with hydralic run by 1-V-belt and it works great, the belt never slips unless I try to lift a 28 foot chisel plow with it and the H will only be used for light cultivating, mowing, and raking. As for the comment on live PTO - I would never dream of trying to make that happen on an H! My PS is Char-Lynn, has the round torque motor that mounts under the hood and a separate belt driven pump -added aftermarket to the 450. Plus it says Char-Lynn on the torque motor. I am not going to cobble my H, I am making it into a useful tractor with modern conveniences. Farmers modified these tractors back in the 50's to keep up with technology, what is wrong with doing that today? Also, I will try to do the most tasteful job possible with what resources I have. I simply cannot afford to put over $2500 into a tractor just to have it sit around and look pretty. I USE my machinery. So the general consensus is that a hydralic pump would run both, right? About how many GPM does it take to run the power steering? I would probably order a pump from Northen Tool and Equipment or someplace like that. Thanks Steven
