400lp charging system HELP

We just got grandpa's 400lp out of storage where it has been for the last 26 years and everything seems to be in good shape, but before he put it away, he took off the generator and regulator. It must have been going bad. We got a gen and regulator from CT, and put them on, but I don't seem to be getting the wires on the right terminals on the regulator. Can anyone tell me where the 4 wires should be placed on the regulator? It can be made to charge, but when left shut off, it will run the battery down. Thanks for the help.
