Did the brakes work o.k. before. We had a 90 chev half ton in a while back that had the same problem. The owner said it had always been that way He just learned to live with it. had had the vac booster replaced and it did'nt help any. It just feels like it doesn't have enough assist from the booster. These trucks came with two diff diameter boosters. I wonder if the larger dia booster would be the answer but he didn't want to bother with it. Didn't try the porportioning valve but seems that if it were giving too much to the rear and shorting the front the rear wheels would have a tendancy to lock up and if it were the other way the front brakes should give adequate braking. I guess there are'nt any answers here just some thoughts to ponder. Sometimes that helps. Let us all know if you get it sorted out. P.S. New brake shoes [not disc pads] wont give real good braking untill they wear in to the drum to give full shoe contact but the front disc brakes should still give you good stopping. REM
