Went over some connections on the SC last night after work (in the 103 degree heat here in eastern Kansas), recharged the battery the night before. Also looked at the generator (yes it is a 12v generator, not alternator as I think it looks better), had some high mica between the commutator bars so I dragged that out with a cutter that I use on elevator motor/generator sets at work. Also had some copper in one of the slots which had those two shorted. It now charges a lot better than before and starts the second it starts to turn over. So I guess we are okay for a while now. Going to load it up and go to Adrian, Mo. tomorrow to a get together, featuring Massey Harris at this one. Hope they don't mind a different shade of red. Going to meet up with SWMO 1206 while there and HD. Will take some photos and post a few.
