I think all A's came with magneto's. Some were converted to battery ignition over the years though.
Points & condensor once and a while along with a few drops of oil on the impulse coupling and a magneto will work for years without trouble. Even if you would have to have a magneto shop work on one for you, it probably won't have to be repaired again for a long time.
They are still used on thousands of aircraft engines so somebody must think magnetos work OK.
