John: A purist might take exception to it, but I've found out two things. First of all and in this wonderful world of wrenching around on old red tractors, there just aren't a lot of nitpickers. So long as you don't ever misrepresent the tractor to a buyer, most folks are just tickled to death that you've rescued yet another tractor from the graveyard,... and found some personal satisfaction for yourself! Second of all, while I've got the original serial number plate that came with my Super C, in rescuing it and making it run I've replaced an awful lot of other stuff, some of it small and a lot of it not so small at all, stuff that sure wasn't attached to that tag fifty-one years ago. So you put a different tag on the original tractor,... or you put a bunch of different tractor parts on the original tag. So long as you find a fair measure of satisfaction for yourself, and never misrepresent what you've done or what you've got, seems to me you're on the page. Keep on wrenching red. RedTed/MO.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
