Delco 10SI Alternator -- shaft size

I am changing my "M" over to 12v....I got every thing to do it execpt a smaller pully....Bob M,told me to use a 2" pulley or smaller...I removed the stock pulley,measured the shaft dia. as 5/8".I didn't think I was going to have to cut hairs!....They come 1/2" - 5/8" - 3/4",so I thought I had it made I bought a 1 3/4"dia. with a 5/8" bore....Too small!!!I ran a 5/8" drill bit through it,I cut a small amount of material out....still too small,I ran a 21/32"drill bit through it and it is still to small....The only one I could find had a key-way in it ,I can't cut too much because the key-way will cause the hole to move that direction, well that is what happened....Am I the only one that has run into this problem? What did you guy's do about getting a smaller pulley....thanks Don...
