I was in rush this am, now I've read all the posts, you guys are quite fair with Mike. I had a visit with Mike yesterday. He took the time show me his tractors , implements and livestock. Great host is Mike. Also a great looking group of calves. To add my two cents worth to this unusual feed discussion. Years ago before grease came in cartridges and you stuck end of gun in pail of grease and plunger sucked it full of grease. grease came in 20 or 30 lb pails bulk. Pail of grease was left in wrong place. I came back from spreading load of manure, to find 20 holstein heifers in a huddle. I walked in on this gathering to find an empty grease pail. Not just empty but licked to point there wasn't a trace of grease in pail. The cover, the type with metal tabs around edge was inside up and licked just as clean. I kept a close eye on heifers for couple of days. I don't think it even caused them indigestion.
