300U steering shaft seal replacement question - dick

Dick, with the gear arms off, is it a matter of digging out the old seal with a sharp screwdriver, etc., and then pressing in the new one by hand? I picked up the seals recently from the dealer, and after looking at them I am trying to figure out what exactly holds them in place. Thanks for your help.
