Cleaning carbon off pistons

I finally got around to pulling the head off my 560 to do a valve job. The exhaust valve on cyl. #4 had a nice 1/4 inch hole in it. The pistons and top of sleeves are coated with carbon and some loose carbon particles also got knocked into the cylinders when I took off the head.
Question 1: What's the best way to clean off the carbon without pulling the pistons?
Question 2: Having already gotten to this stage, would you guys pull the pistons and do a ring job? Note that the compression on cylinders 1,2,3,5,6 is an even 125 psi, which I am told is not to bad.
