i finally got my carb all adjusted for my '52 cub and she is running again. i am in a slow mode for repairing this old girl, so im just taking a step at a time. the oil pressure on this cub starts out being very good, and after about 20 minutes or so of running, will drop to about half way on the gauge with the 40 wt oil i put in. after a hot workout, the pressure will almost go into the red. i know that the bearings may need replaced, but someone told me before that there is a spring adjustment on the cub in the oil system that helps regulate the oil pressure, but i have not been able to locate where that is on the cub. can anyone give me some direction, using landmarks, to where this adjustment spring is located? also, i noticed that while sitting beside the tractor fiddling with the carb, when i shut the engine off, smoke comes out of the oil fill spout. if remove the dipstick, the smoke slowly rises out. this will occur just after about 5 minutes of running the tractor. is this a sign of the tractor over heating?
