HI Bill, first of all the white demonstrator cub's didnt come out till early 1950.., there werent any 49 demos.. to answere you question about the adjustment on the cub carb is that the only real adjustment is the idle jet.. these IH carbs are prone to warpage from over the years of being taken apart and put together and screws tightened too much.. the thing to do is get a kit and take your carb apart ,, check all mateing surfaces for flatness.. if they are warped you possibly can fix the problem with a flat file enough to get the surfaces to fit tight enough for the gaskets to seal.. also check to make sure that the main jet hasnt been drilled out, if it has it willneed sodered and redrilled to proper size, then make sure the idle tube isnt broken off, if it is then you will have to replace it but getting the broken piece out of the top of the carb is a real challange..i would sudjest goint to atis under the farmall cub discussion board and loking in the arcives and finding out about replaceing the needle valve with a rubber tipped one, this will work great in stopping the leaky carb problems .
