Charles I will conseed on this to you, as for the dead men they can go to (where they are). In my home town farmers were looking for flotation thus tractors were ordered with larger than standard tires My dads H had 12x38, 300 13.6x38. The few Ms around seemed much larger. I do know of a SM, has been in same family since new. Man who purchased new now deceased. Tractor now has 15.5x38 on proper rim for that tire. The rims do look old enough to be original. This family is miserly enough I don't believe anyone ever changed rims. The other senario one could assume is SM was larger tractor than most farmers in that area wanted at that time. SM could have sat on dealers lot couple years, and never been sold new until later 50s. It did have a few things against it for the area no live PTO, no TA, too large, etc. The gentleman that bought it was notorious for his hard bargaining. This tractor is a nice original, not restored, always sheded. This indeed is what got me in this discussion.
