I saw a Farmall C once, guy changed oil before he started it, no problem. He refilled tractor with detergent oil ran it a few days and decided he would change oil again, as he was concerned on how dirty oil looked. He turned out drain plug, nothing came out. He called me to have a look. We removed pan to find a layer 1" thick of silt. There was oil, sand, straw, hayseed and a few unidentifyable ingrediants. He put more new oil and filter and did a couple of oil changes. It cleaned up and after 8 years is still using tractor. Probably less than 50 hours per year, but as of last winter no engine repairs were necessary.
