M camshaft

Camshaft came from an M but the number doent match up to anything dealer has,says it may be from a 400 or 450 but he doesnt have those books to look at.Anyways that doesnt matter right now.The lobes and bearing surfaces on the cam arent nice and shiny after having it cleaned up.They look dull,kinda like the bearing surface.IS this gonna hurt anything or should the surfaces be shiny and smooth,not that they are smooth,just not shiny.I think the guy accidentally used the wrong vat to clean this thing up for me.Syas he cleans them like that all the time,and it would bew ok but.........
