The engine depends on what was in it. If it had non-detergent oil in it, then you need to run a non-detergent 30 weight oil in it. The reason why if it was non-detergent you would have to stay that way is because there would be sludge in the engine and a detergent oil will break the sludge loose and cause problems. If a regular oil was run in it, use 30 weight or 15W-40. If you are totally in doubt, pull the oil pan or valve cover, if there is thick goo then it had non-detergent, if not - go ahead with the good stuff. In the transmission, belt pulley box, and final drives you can use 90 weight gear lube or 85W-140 gear lube. Hy-Tran will also work, but the seals will be more likely to leak and the gears turn longer when you step the clutch in. I run all CaseIH and Rotella oils. Steven
