I've been thru four different pump shops over the years as it seemed as though it was a license to steal. The fourth one, which I still do business with, will tear my pump down for a given price then give me a price for repair before a bill is run up. I have gone and retrieved my pump and injectors more than once. My first experience, over thirty years ago, was a big Bosch pump on a 930 Case that I just wanted to be "checked" as I was putting head gaskets on the tractor. After I paid the bill of $953, the tractor started and ran no different than before the repairs. Two other shops gave me similar experiences until I found number four that at least cheats me where I can't tell it.
