For most of us that are still running Gasoline through our tractors and trying to stay away from alternate fuels, what do you think the difference is when you use today's Unleaded gas Vs the leaded fuel the tractors were built to run on? I have used a lead substitute since rebuilding my 44 Farmall M and from the time before the rebuild up to this day, the ole' girl runs much smoother. Before I began to question whether I wanted to update her engine, I was burning straight unleaded gasoline. She ran real good but I wanted to insure that she would keep on running into the years to come. Now that I have done some small engine work, she still runs good and even better with the lead in her gas. Anyone else out there have any ideas or opinions about the question I pose? Is leaded fuel the way to go or better, the way to go back to?
