Seems like if you could rig up a really big overflow bottle the worries here could be reduced. Pull warm coolant out of the pickup and replace with cold into the overflow bottle, the pickup draws out of the overflow bottle as needed. Really a better solution would be to build a coolant heater. A propane burner with a pot of some sort and maybe a small pump. Again you'd need a tank. Pump cold coolant into the tank, warm it, pump to the holding tank and then into the vehicle to be warmed. Then refill. Of course never leave the tank empty with burner on. Seems like it could work faster than a pickup and burn considerably less fuel and not damage the pickup.
