Farmall Super A Tranny and rear end??

I am in the process in replacing all the seals and brakes in the rear end of a farmall super a for a guy. and I noticed some oil dripping between the two castings right in front of the tranny ( or under the battery box) I am pretty sure it should be dry in front of the tranny? I was thinking maybe the front input shaft seal on the tranny? Hs anyone ever split one right here? Any hints or suggestions on doing this? Anything else I should check for while I have it torn apart? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks Bob
