As long as the flywheel's off, it's a real good time to replace the rear main seal if it should need it. Throwout bearing, if that needs attention. Don't ask how I know, just don't go crazy with the hammer and punch getting the old ring gear off. Heat will be your friend in that operation. And any opportunity is a good one to apply some bright paint to your flywheel to indicate the TDC mark. It can be might hard to find thorugh the cover or the handhole.
