Sitting back in the yard, My Grandfathers tractor has been idle for several, (10-15) years. From what I have researched, it is a 1944-45 ish Farmall BN. I took a look to see how bad the damage was to the tractor after sitting for soo long. Overall, it looks pretty good, however, the muffler stack has corroded off completely and im sure rain has run down into the engine over the years. The usuall corrosion, but the sheetmetal and tank look pretty good considering. When it was running, it was hand started. I tried to turn the engine, but could not. After looking at Scotts Farmall Page, it looks like I could bring her back to working condition. Im interested in restoring the tractor back to working condition and using it with a shredder for grass cutting. Are there any other websites out there that offer parts for these older tractors. Gaskets, Rings, etc... Would the head probably need to be completely re-done, or re-placed due to the water damage? Or should i just wait till I start to split it all apart before I start looking for parts? Does anyone have any information on shredders for these older type tractors? Will the PTO from this tractor power a pull behind shredder? or?... Any and All information from other Farmall Restoration Projects would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance !!
