What a frustrating month. In early October I replaced the rod bearings. Old rod bearings were in pretty poor shape. I started to change the main bearings also but unfortunately discovered that Bermuda Ken sent H bearings instead. It took about 3 weeks to get another set of bearings directly from Ken's wholesaler, Woods Products, who bought out TISCO. I installed them on 10/30/2002 in 42 degree weather. BRRRR!! It took a little over 2 hours to replace the mains, install the oil pump and pan. The main bearings were in fair shape. One half of the rear bearing was badly chewed up along one edge. I expect that is where the engine was stuck. The engine had not been run in a month so I was expecting starting problems. To my astonishment the engine fired up immediately. I had to milk the choke until she was running on all 4. The oil pressure is still the same at full rpm with the gauge indicating between the I and L. The good news is after running her for 75 minutes, the oil pressure never dropped down to the O as it did before the bearing change and the oil pump rebuild. At idle, the gauge is on the left edge of the O when warmed up. Before the change, the gauge was down in the red to almost no pressure. Plans at this point are to keep her running over the winter and worry about painting next spring.

Talk of the Town: How to Remove a Broken Bolt - by Staff. Another neat discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: "I have an aluminum steering gear housing with a bolt broken off in it. The bolt is about a 3/8" x 1 1/2" bolt. I've already drilled the center of the bolt out with about 7/64" drill bit the entire length of the bolt. Only one end of the bolt is visible. I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
