What you are describing is a running change. The first Super Ms (Stage Is)had the transmission driven hydraulics with the reservoir in the clutch housing. Stage IIs had the live hydraulic pump running off the ignition drive and the hydraulic reservoir under the fuel tank (getting it out of the clutch housing in time for the Stage III Super MTA). When they moved the hydraulic reservoir, they put it in the same place as the battery. They of course then had to move the battery. They took the Super C battery/seat assembly and put it on the Super Ms. The question of how many factories built the M is different a little more complicated. Farmall of course built Ms, Super Ms, and Super MTAs. Louisville built Super Ms (I can't remember right now if they did Super MTAs). Australia built AMs, Super AMs, and a whole bunch of derivitives into the 60s. Britain built Ms (not quite like ours), BMs, Super BMs, etc. into the B-450, which was mostly M and looked kinda like an M, into the early 1970s.
