The difference between the two was a couple of things first was the naming. Contractors, constriction workers, etc. did not like the denotation of a farm tractor for use in construction type work. Therefor the utility model was named International rather than Farmall. This same applies to other sized tractors after 1954 or 1955. The second thing is this is the line of tractor for row crop work as opposed to utility or wheatland style tractors.
I hope this helps and makes sense, I believe I read this in a book about IH tractors in the 1950's. By the way Kelly were you able to get those photos of my Son's 300 Farmall to open?
