I just rebuilt my H steering at the same time I am trying to get it to run again and I put a new thrust bearing, It seemed to help it steer A LOT better(the little that I drove it in the shop). My thrust bearing came out in 3 pieces, it looked fine until I was told that it is one unit. Check to see if the sector and worm gear are worn. Replace the 3 bushings if they are worn.
