I'd swear i read on one of the YT forums that you shouldn't use emery cloth on the commutator as it is soft copper and the abrasive can get embedded in it and shorten brush life. they mentioned something about the hardness of the abraisive in emery cloth being much greater than regular sand paper. of course my memory could be short also. any comments ?
