Considering how little gas you use doing this, and the cost of the lead substitute, it looks cheap in comparision to head and valve work. It's your call on which you want to pay for. To me, it's cheap insurance. Your decades of trouble-free use would indicate otherwise, though. I understand that lead additives (most contain MMT or similar things) are of most value when you run an engine really hard, and perhaps your mowing isn't that strenuous on your H.
