Super C Oil Pressure

I have a '54 Super C, and while running it slowly loses oil pressure. After about 45 mins idling, it is down at the bottom of the white. Fast Idle makes it about 1/3 to maybe a bit below half up the gauge. I've checked the oil pump, replaced the gauge, etc. A friend said I should change the main bearings, but the Case dealer said it has nothing to do with oil pressure. Any suggestions?
If it is the main bearings, can they be replaced from underneath?
